Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in preparing and compounding pharmaceutical products.
• Assess inventory of pharmacy products.
• Resolve insurance claim issues during dispensing, as applicable.
• Perform technical functions involved in the medication use process.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current registration with the Alabama Board of Pharmacy required.
• CPhT certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire for Tech I; required for Tech II.
• One year of pharmacy technician experience required for Tech II.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and a customer-centric attitude in challenging situations.
• Ability to prioritize workload efficiently.
• Effective communication skills across the organization.
• Commitment to providing positive customer service.
• Knowledge of HIPAA standards and regulations.
• Proficiency in typing and performing computer duties.
• Competence in pharmaceutical calculations, metric system, and cash register use if applicable.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
• Familiarity with pharmacy systems, technology, and equipment.
