Job summary

Responsibilities

• Compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies from prescriptions.
• Prepares and files charge slips and labels medications.
• Dispenses additives for IV/irrigation solutions and prepares IV additive solutions using aseptic technique.

Rate of Pay: $19.20 to $23.82 base pay based on experience, plus 7.25% second shift premium

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmaceutical Services or a Registered Pharmacist - and according to the standard procedures - compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving prescriptions from physicians or other qualified prescribes, dispenses additives for IV and irrigation solutions, mixes IV additive solutions as required using aseptic technique, with the laminar flow hood, types labels, prepares and files charge slips, and performs other related duties.

Required Qualifications:

• Possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Michigan.

Possess 6 months of job-related experience or completion of a pharmacy technician-training program or currently enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy.
