McLaren Health Care is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Medical Surgical unit in Michigan. The role supports patient-centered care under the direct supervision of a nurse, addressing day-to-day activities and comfort during daytime hours (9:00am-2:00pm).

The position emphasizes HIPAA/OSHA compliance, safety, and compassionate patient interaction. Prior direct care experience is preferred; BLS is required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA/ARC/Canadian).
• CENA training preferred.

Responsabilités

• Performs patient care interventions as delegated by the RN to attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides daily activity and personal hygiene support (bathing, feeding, dressing, mobility).
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
• Maintains safe, clean environment; adheres to infection control and waste protocols.
• Performs other related duties as requested.

Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Responsibilities:

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent .
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Certification must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in direct care preferred.
• CENA training
• Prior experience obtained through clinical nursing rotation relevant to the specific work area.
