Job summary

Ascension is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX. Join a hospital pharmacy team focused on safe dispensing, inventory control and patient care.

This role requires Texas tech licensure or intern status, and a high school diploma with related experience or an associate/technical degree. Responsibilities include managing automated dispensing systems, stocking, repackaging medications and coordinating supplies, while liaising with patients, providers

Qualifications

• Texas licensure as Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern status.
• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience.
• IV Certification as a preferred qualification.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage automated dispensing systems to ensure timely access to medications for patient care.
• Maintain inventory levels to support uninterrupted pharmacy services for care teams.
• Repackage bulk medications for safe and efficient distribution.
• Coordinate incoming supplies and organize pharmacy stocks to maintain a safe workspace.
• Serve as liaison between patients, providers, and pharmacy staff to facilitate clear communication.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience

Licensure: Texas State Board of Pharmacy license or Pharmacy Intern status

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• One or more of the following required:
  • Licensed Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Pharmacy Intern obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
