Piedmont Columbus Northside is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support IV admixtures and unit-dose preparation for critical care areas. The role involves compounding chemotherapy medications and maintaining stock in accordance with procedures and regulations while collaborating with pharmacy staff.

Ideal candidates hold a Pharmacy Technician registration and prefer prior IV admixture experience. This is a hospital-based position with duties as needed across the pharmacy team.

Competenze

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the state Board.
• PTCB certification preferred.

Mansioni

• Prepare IV admixtures and unit dose syringes for critical care.
• Compound chemotherapy medications and prepare solutions as needed in OR/CC areas.
• Maintain adequate stock levels and follow standard procedures and regulations.
• Work with pharmacy and technical staff to define best practices and support duties of a Pharmacy Technician.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions. Preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas. Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas. Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations. Works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice. Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required
• PTCB Certification Preferred
