Presbyterian Healthcare Services seeks a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in filling orders, pre-packaging, compounding, stocking and clerical tasks. The role covers inpatient and outpatient areas with EPIC charting and Pyxis tech usage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• State license as Pharmacy Technician in NM.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician through PTCB.
• Optionally certified via NHA.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders for inpatient and outpatient areas.
• Handle non-sterile compounding, labeling and repackaging.
• Performs unit dose packaging and cart/tray/kit prep.
• Maintain inventory and proper disposal of meds.
• Adhere to controlled substance record-keeping and compliance.
• Deliver supplies to patient units and respond to inquiries.

Summary:

Presbyterian is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for filling medication orders, pre-packaging, compounding pharmaceuticals, refilling stock supplies, delivering medication, and performing various clerical duties as required.

Responsibilities:

• Performs all non-sterile medication ordering, preparation, and dispensing activities, including, but not limited to: Filling medication orders for inpatient and outpatient areas of the facility
• Use of pharmacy technology Pyxis, Pharmogistics, CII safe
• Non-sterile compounding, labeling and repackaging.
• Non-sterile unit dose packaging
• Cart, tray, and kit preparation.
• Handling of non-sterile hazardous medications
• Proper waste or disposal
• Maintains required record-keeping for controlled and non-controlled substances.
• Delivers supplies to the patient unit and ancillary areas.
• Answers telephone and responds to questions and problems.
• Checks stock on a regular basis to identify and reorder outdated stock and ensures that stock is maintained in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
• Responsible for adherence to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled Substances.
• Performs other functions as required or assigned.

• Certified Pharmacy Technician-PTCB
• OR Certified Pharmacy Technician- NHA
