Job summary

Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital in Mooresville, NC seeks a Pharmacy Technician I/II to support prescription processing, preparation and distribution under supervision, with involvement in clinical pharmacy services to ensure safe medication use.

Qualified candidates hold a high school diploma or equivalent and have completed an accredited pharmacy technician-training program or are accepted into pharmacy school; NC Board of Pharmacy registration is required within 180 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program, or acceptance into pharmacy school.
• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or health care related experience.
• Must be registered with NC Board of Pharmacy within 180 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Follow workflow procedures for prescription processing, medication preparation and distribution.
• Restock dispensing cabinets and anesthesia workstations; answer and screen calls.
• Handle medications per department, regulatory and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with pharmacy team, insurers and customers to resolve issues.
• Assist with basic clinical functions supporting the clinical pharmacist.
• Provide training to new employees and students as needed.
