Job summary

Duke Raleigh Hospital, a campus of Duke University Health System, seeks a Pharmacy Technician II to support the clinical pharmacy team and ensure safe medication use. You will perform prescription processing, preparation, and distribution under supervision while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include restocking, patient interactions, calls management, and collaboration with insurers and care teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program or acceptance into pharmacy school.
• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or health care related experience.
• Must be registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within the first 180 days.
• Pharmacy Technician certification is required from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT.

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions and medication preparation and distribution to patient.
• Restock automatic dispensing cabinets and anesthesia workstations as needed.
• Answer and screen telephone calls and direct to appropriate personnel.
• Handle medications per department, regulatory and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with pharmacy team, insurers and customers to resolve issues.
• Assist with clinical functions supporting pharmacists (eg, patient follow up).
• Operate and troubleshoot pharmacy equipment and systems.
• Deliver medications and supplies to patient care areas.
• Document safety and quality activities as required.
