Charleston Area Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Tech 1 at the Women & Children's Hospital in Charleston, WV. Under pharmacist supervision, you will assist with order entry, medication preparation, labeling, and distribution to support patient care and outcomes.

You will handle inventory, restock cabinets, prepare non-sterile and sterile products where applicable, and maintain documentation. Strong communication and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• State Certification as Pharmacy Technician is required.

Responsabilités

• Enter physician orders into the pharmacy computer system.
• Prepare patient-specific medication orders for dispensing using department equipment and automation.
• Re-pack and label unit doses from bulk supplies and complete required documentation.
• Prepare sterile products using appropriate sterile technique where applicable.
• Handle, store and deliver medications with regard to their chemical and physical properties.
• Deliver medications via 24-hour cart exchange when applicable.
• Restock automated dispensing cabinets and prepare floor stock orders as needed.
• Demonstrate effective telephone communication skills.
• Prepare non-sterile products (ointments, creams, solutions) as applicable.
• Perform basic drug purchasing and inventory control tasks, including receipts and invoicing.
• Complete quality monitoring for medications in the department and patient areas.
• Collaborate with peers to improve workflow and system processes.
• Prepare orders for controlled substances when applicable.
