Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician. The role supports care delivery and dispensing under supervision, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. Hours are 6am-11pm, rotating shifts, weekends every other weekend, and occasional overnight coverage.

Candidate must have a Virginia Pharmacy Tech License; High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Preferred CPhT license and prior hospital pharmacy experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License required in state of practice.
• CPhT License (Preferred) through NHA or PTCB.
• Pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care delivery and dispensing under supervision of a licensed pharmacist or practitioner.
• Fill and deliver medications under supervision of a licensed professional.
• Ensure adequate supplies for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions outside scope of practice as needed.
• Use appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Maintain quality assurance per department and legal requirements.
• Operate pharmacy equipment appropriately.
• Other duties as assigned.

Sentara is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA.

$5,000 Sign-On Bonus for Qualified Candidates!

Location: Norfolk, VA- Sentara Norfolk General Hospital

Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

Shift: Rotating (8 hour shift)

Hours: 6am-11pm* (occasional overnight coverage)

Weekends: Every Other Weekend

Holiday Rotation

*Hours may vary to meet pharmacy staffing needs.

• Pharmacy Technicians perform care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.50 - $36.36 hourly.
