Job summary

Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacy team under supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You will assist in preparing and distributing medications, maintain drug inventory, and ensure accurate record-keeping in a busy hospital setting.

Required is a Nevada Pharmacy Technician license with current certification (PTCB or NHA). One year of experience is preferred and familiarity with automation and reporting tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year experience preferred.
• Current license as Pharmacy Technician in Nevada and national certification (PTCB or NHA).

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications and maintaining inventory.
• Comply with state and federal regulations and standard procedures.
• Support documentation and record-keeping in the pharmacy department.

Job Description

Pharmacy Technicians, under the supervision of a license pharmacist, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department. Pharmacy Technicians assist the pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records. Pharmacy Technicians function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist

Qualifications

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

One (1) year experience preferred.

Technical Skills

Automation experience with knowledge of reporting features (i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic access, etc.)

License/Certification

Current license as Pharmacy Technician in State of Nevada, Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or the National Healthcareer Association as a pharmacy technician
