Job summary

Henderson Hospital, part of The Valley Health System, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications and maintaining accurate drug inventories. Per diem varied shifts, under licensed supervision.

Qualifications

  • License/Certification: Current license as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Nevada, Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or the National Healthcareer Association as a pharmacy technician.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications.
  • Maintain the drug inventory and maintenance of records.
  • Operate under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and follow standard procedures.
  • Comply with state and federal regulations for pharmacy operations.

Job Description

Pharmacy Technicians, under the supervision of a license pharmacist, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department. Pharmacy Technicians assist the pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records. Pharmacy Technicians function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.

Qualifications

Shift: PER DIEM VARIED

Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience preferred.

Technical Skills: Automation experience with knowledge of reporting features (i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic access, etc.).

License/Certification: Current license as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Nevada, Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or the National Healthcareer Association as a pharmacy technician.
