Job summary

Premier Health Partners seeks a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, OH. This full-time role supports pharmacists under direct supervision and handles labeling, drug preparation, inventory stocking, and compounding tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and retrieve information from databases or patient profiles.

  • Stock dangerous drugs and retrieve those drugs from inventory.
  • Count and pour dangerous drugs into containers.
  • Place dangerous drugs into containers before dispensing by a pharmacist.
  • Perform non-sterile drug compounding after site-specific training.
  • Perform sterile drug compounding after site-specific training.
  • Stock automated drug storage systems, floor stock, and crash carts.

General Summary/Responsibilities

Status: Full-time - 700am-330pm900am-530pm,100pm - 930pm, 300pm-1130pm

Department: Pharmacy

Facility: Atrium Medical Center

A Certified Pharmacy Technician, Under The Direct Supervision Of a Pharmacist, Engage In The Following Activities To The Extent That The Activities Do Not Require The Exercise Of Professional Judgment

  • 1. Entering information into and retrieving information from a database or patient profile
  • 2. Preparing and affixing labels
  • 3. Stocking dangerous drugs and retrieving those drugs from inventory
  • 4. Counting and pouring dangerous drugs into containers
  • 5. Placing dangerous drugs into containers prior to dispensing by a pharmacist
  • 6. Non-sterile drug compounding following the completion of site-specific training
  • 7. Sterile drug compounding following the completion of a site-specific training
  • 7. Stocking automated drug storage systems, floor stock, and crash carts
Qualifications
Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED

  • Preferred educational qualifications: Completion of an ASHP/ACPE-accredited technician education and training program
Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
  • Registration with the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a “Certified Pharmacy Technician” or eligible for registration within 45 days of hire.
Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience

Preferred experience: Prior hospital, long-term care or retail experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills
  • Possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skills
  • Able to read and write printed material in English
  • Proficiency with computer keyboard operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred
  • Ability to compute simple algebraic ratios, volume/volume percentage and weight/volume percentage
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy. Must be familiar with pharmacy software
  • Possess ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as team member
  • Flexibility in scheduling essential as mentor/trainer of new coworkers
