Job summary

Miami Valley Hospital is seeking a part-time Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations under a pharmacist's supervision. Duties include entering and retrieving patient data, labeling, stocking dangerous drugs, and assisting with sterile/non-sterile compounding after site training.

Requires High School diploma or GED, and Ohio CPhT registration (or eligibility within 45 days). Prior experience is not required, but hospital/retail exposure is preferred; strong English literacy

Qualifications

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • Registration with the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a “Certified Pharmacy Technician” or eligible for registration within 45 days of hire.
  • No prior job-related work experience required.
  • Ability to read and write English; strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Entering information into and retrieving information from a database or patient profile.
  • Preparing and affixing labels.
  • Stocking dangerous drugs and retrieving those drugs from inventory.
  • Counting and pouring dangerous drugs into containers.
  • Placing dangerous drugs into containers prior to dispensing by a pharmacist.
  • Non-sterile drug compounding following site-specific training.
  • Sterile drug compounding following site-specific training.
  • Stocking automated drug storage systems, floor stock, and crash carts.
