Technology Consulting Inc. in Albany, NY seeks a Pharmacy Technician for a contract-to-hire role to work on-site under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Preferred experience in order entry, warehousing or distribution inventory management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills, required.
• Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology.
• Shift requirements: Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm, 1-2 evenings per week 2-10pm, and every 4th weekend 9-5.

Responsibilities

• Works under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, fills prescriptions and prepares IVs.
• Works with Billing Supervisor to enter data into computer system to fill prescriptions and to obtain reimbursement payment.
• Works under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist in prepackaging medication for dispensing according to standards and government regulations.
• Assists the Pharmacist in final checking of filled prescriptions, which may include stating the medication for RPh final review and/or packaging of medication post RPh final review and coordinating accurate and timely delivery to the customer.
• Assists Pharmacy Management in maintaining good inventory practices which may include receiving and rotating incoming medications and supplies, posting lot numbers, expiration dates and assisting in physical inventory.
• Works with Technician Supervisor in maintaining a clean/safe work environment, checking equipment for calibration, safety, and cleanliness.

Note: This position requires US Citizenship and work is performed on-site.
