Job summary

UT Health Tyler is seeking a day shift, full-time Pharmacy Technician to join our Tyler, TX team. You will assist pharmacists with non-clinical medication preparation and support daily pharmacy operations in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualified candidates have 2+ years hospital pharmacy technician experience, BLS, and CTPhT/CPhT certification. Sterile compounding training is required or as per state rules, with opportunities for growth and professional development.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• 2+ years hospital pharmacy technician experience.
• Completion of sterile compounding training/competency.
• Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with State BOPh (if required).
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the technical, non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing under pharmacist supervision.
• Participate as a reliable, punctual team member in pharmacy operations.
• Maintain competency in sterile IV medication compounding.

Responsibilities

• The pharmacy technician, under the supervision of a pharmacist, will assist in the technical, non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing and assist in pharmacy operations.

• Maintains competency in the compounding of sterile IV medications.

• 2+ year’s previous hospital pharmacy technician experience (inclusive of training programs).
• Completion of sterile compounding training/competency (as required by State BOP).
• Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy, if required by state of employment.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
