The specialist will monitor daily Omnicell operations, review reports for discrepancies, and coordinate with nursing and IT to resolve issues, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in medication management.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have at least 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
Pharmacy Technician License, or ability to become licensed within 3 months.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
Proficient with Windows-style applications and role-specific software/interfaces.

Responsibilities

Maximize functionality of the pharmacy information systems and integrations with informatics systems.
Serve as a technical resource for pharmacy staff and administration.
Facilitate training of pharmacy and hospital personnel.
Check system connection status for Omnicells daily.
Review daily Omnicell reports, cancellations, and discrepancies.
Reconcile controlled medication overrides and potential diversion issues.
Review ED controlled medication transactions and exception reports.
Email nursing for issues and review reports regularly.
Monitor access/removals and problems in ServiceNow.
