Job summary

Jupiter Medical Center in Palm Beach County is seeking a Systems Analyst to support pharmacy information systems and informatics integrations. The role collaborates with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure system functionality and staff training across Cerner and Omnicell platforms.

The specialist will monitor daily Omnicell operations, review reports for discrepancies, and coordinate with nursing and IT to resolve issues, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in medication management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have at least 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Pharmacy Technician License, or ability to become licensed within 3 months.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Proficient with Windows-style applications and role-specific software/interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize functionality of the pharmacy information systems and integrations with informatics systems.

  • Email nursing for issues and review reports regularly.
  • Monitor access/removals and problems in ServiceNow.

Experience / Qualifications

Must have at least 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience. Pharmacy Technician License, or ability to become licensed within 3 months. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard, interfaces, fax. Strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of pharmacy processes. Excellent analytical and organizational skills and strong orientation to attention-to-detail. Self-Motivated.

Position Summary

The systems analyst works under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager, to assist pharmacy staff and pharmacy administration with necessary system functionality and training.

Responsibilities
  • Performs all duties necessary to maximize functionality of the pharmacy information systems and the integration with other informatics systems in the facility.
  • Serves as a technical resource.
  • Facilitates training of pharmacy and/or other hospital personnel.
  • Daily: Check system connection status for all Omnicells.
  • Review the following daily tasks/printed reports: Omnicell new user additions/deletions
  • Omnicell cabinet malfunctions and interface issues
  • Review CSM and Floor Discrepancies
  • Reconcile Controlled Medication overrides and unreconciled doses for potential diversion issues
  • Review all ED Controlled Medication transactions and Exception report (CSM Returns and dispenses)
  • Email Nursing as needed for issues found
  • Review Omnicell emailed reports I.E. Null transaction reports and resolved discrepancy reports
  • Regularly check ServiceNow for access removals, additions and problems
  • Check "Temp Patient Billing Reconciliation" to match temp patient with actual patient files.
  • Check PSB report for repeat medications to be added to appropriate Omnicells
  • Add new medications into both Cerner and Omnicell as needed
  • Handle access, hardware, configuration issues as they present themselves
  • Weekly: Run usage reports as needed and adjust cabinet stock for MBO issues as needed
  • Monitor "Stocked Items without Active Med orders" and "Active Med Orders without Stocked Items" reports
  • Monitor individual item stockout sheets adjust compared to 90 day usage
  • Monthly: Update monthly numbers dashboard (S:\Monthly Reporting\Reporting Numbers)
  • Complete OR Potential Loss Report
  • Review Diversion Report
  • Email Nursing as needed (Rx Auditor)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Requires sitting for long periods of time, also stooping, bending, standing, and stretching. Must have manual dexterity for typing and computer data entry. Able to work under a stressful environment, work independently, capable of making sound decisions, be detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs., carry and lift up to 20lbs.

Threshold Requirements

These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis. Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation. TB/PPD Surveillance Program Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
