Job summary

ShopRite of Greater Morristown in Cedar Knolls, NJ is seeking a Pharmacy Clerk to provide excellent customer service and support the Pharmacy Department. Responsibilities include cash handling, assisting customers, stocking, and maintaining a clean, compliant work area.

The role requires reading and understanding English, basic math, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 18+ age, state licenses, and ability to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must maintain proper state licensing or certifications.
• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and 25 lbs. frequently.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and tolerate dust/chemicals.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work all assigned schedules and follow time/attendance policies.
• Proficient use of required computer hardware and software.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Confidentiality of information must be maintained.
• Compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet Customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Accurately ring the sale of prescriptions.
• Process payments accurately and provide correct change.
• Adhere to state/federal drug laws and HIPAA requirements.
• Maintain security of the Pharmacy Department.
• Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality with patient health information.
• Answer telephone calls in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Take prescriptions and verify patient details.
• Organize and stock pharmaceuticals as directed by Pharmacist.
• Assist Customers in locating over-the-counter items.
• Be knowledgeable about products in the department.
• Complete HIPAA Privacy and Security training modules.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces and equipment.
• Report equipment problems promptly.
