Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Director, Pharmacist - Strategy and Performance to lead a team shaping enterprise pharmacy strategy across pharmacy and medical benefits. You will oversee contracting, performance, and financial outcomes for provider-administered drugs, home infusion, and retail/specialty networks.

Collaborating with clinical, finance, and PBM partners, you will drive drug trend management and value for members and clients in a dynamic, hybrid-work environment.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted California Pharmacist license.
• PharmD degree from an accredited U.S. school.
• 10 years in managed care or PBM settings.
• 6 years of people leadership experience.
• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
• Knowledge of PBM, formulary and network programs.
• Vendor partnerships, contract operations and performance management preferred.
• Strong business acumen in pharmacy strategy and planning.
• Ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
• Detail-oriented and capable in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to develop and execute enterprise pharmacy strategy.
• Oversee drug and network contracting, contract performance, and financials.
• Collaborate with Pharmacy Clinical Leadership, Finance, Actuary and PBM partners.
