Job summary

Blue Shield of California’s Pharmacy team seeks a Director, Pharmacist - Strategy and Performance to lead enterprise pharmacy strategy and a high-impact team. You will oversee drug and network contracting, contract performance, and financial outcomes across provider-administered drugs, home infusion, and retail/specialty networks.

You will collaborate with Pharmacy Clinical Leadership, Medical Management, Finance, Actuary, Provider Contracting, and PBM partners to identify and implement

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted California Pharmacist license.
• PharmD degree from a U.S. accredited school.
• 10 years of experience in managed care health plan or PBM or related setting.
• 6 years of people management with direct reports.
• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
• Knowledge of pharmacy benefits, formulary, network programs.
• Experience in vendor partnerships, contract operations, negotiations.
• Strong business acumen in pharmacy strategy development.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to develop and execute enterprise pharmacy strategy across pharmacy and medical benefits.
• Oversee drug and network contracting, contract performance, and financial performance.
• Partner with Pharmacy Clinical Leadership, Medical Management, Finance, Actuary, Provider Contracting, and PBM partners to identify and implement value-driven strategies.
• Drive drug trend management and maximize member and client value.
• Foster high-performing teams and support leadership development.
