Weis Markets is seeking a Pharmacy Service Representative to ensure prompt and accurate prescription processing in the Pharmacy Department. Responsibilities include computer entry, patient and prescriber searches, insurance billing, label creation, and maintaining a clean, organized work area.

The role supports inventory management and requires a high school diploma or GED plus 600 hours in retail/pharmacy operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus 600 practical hours working in retail and/or pharmacy operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform all functions of a Pharmacy Service Representative to ensure prompt service.
• Enter prescription information into computer including patient search, prescriber search, drug selection, and insurance billing.
• Process new and refill prescriptions, including refill authorizations where permitted by state law.
• Retrieve medications from inventory where permitted by state law.
• Create prescription labels and place them on containers.
• Place medication into prescription containers.
• Complete paperwork and input data into the computer system.
• Assist in keeping the Pharmacy department clean and orderly.
• Assist in inventory management: order review, returns, restocking, inventory prep.
• Reconstitute oral liquids where permitted by state law.
