Job summary

Weis Markets is seeking a Pharmacy Service Representative to ensure prompt service in the Pharmacy Department. You will perform prescription data entry, patient and prescriber searches, insurance billing and problem resolution while maintaining inventory and accuracy.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 600 practical hours in retail/pharmacy operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform all functions of a Pharmacy Service Representative to ensure prompt service in the Pharmacy Department.
• Enter prescription information including patient and prescriber searches, drug selection, prescription interpretation and entry, insurance billing and basic problem resolution.
• Process new and refill prescriptions with required information and obtain refill authorizations where state law permits.
• Retrieve medications from inventory and create prescription labels and containers as permitted by state law.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and input data into the computer system.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the Pharmacy department and assist with inventory management and restocking.
• Reconstitute oral liquids where permitted by state law.
