Job summary

Amber Specialty Pharmacy is seeking a Patient Care Specialist in Omaha, NE. You will handle day-to-day patient service activities, inbound/outbound calls, refill reminders, and coordinate with pharmacists to support patients with chronic conditions.

Role emphasizes excellent customer service, data accuracy, and adherence to HIPAA guidelines. In-office, full-time position with rotating shifts and six paid holidays. Must pass pre-employment screenings as required by law.

Qualifications

Working knowledge of the healthcare industry.
HIPAA trained and/or the ability to protect confidential patient and employee information.

Responsibilities

Explain company programs and services to patients and provider staff.
Liaise between company, patients, insurers, and providers via phone, fax, and email.
Make onboarding welcome calls and schedule medication deliveries.
Enter data into tracking software and escalate to clinical staff when needed.
Make monthly refill reminder calls and refer to clinical staff as needed.
Handle patient inquiries and route questions to pharmacists or nurses as appropriate.
Notify staff of information that may affect a patient’s state or funding.
Process orders and inquiries received by mail, phone, or direct contact.
