Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist, Supply Chain and Operations to manage the inpatient pharmacy's pharmaceutical supply chain, optimize inventory, contain costs, and oversee dispensing from the central pharmacy.

The role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure medication availability, lead drug-shortage mitigation, build vendor relationships, and monitor system performance while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy or equivalent degree.
• Massachusetts pharmacist license by hire date.
• Minimum three years in pharmacy practice or PGY1 completed.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management and inventory control.
• Experience with Epic, Pyxis, Omnicell; vendor relations experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage pharmaceutical supply chain operations, inventory, costs and shortages.
• Lead drug-shortage meetings and present updates to staff.
• Negotiate contracts and maintain vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure medication availability.
• Oversee automated dispensing systems for regulatory compliance and efficiency.
• Analyze data to monitor performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and prudent resource use.
• Support training for staff on supply chain processes and systems.
• Oversee day-to-day operations within the pharmacy supply chain team.
