Job summary

Boston Medical Center in the Boston area is seeking a Pharmacy Inventory Specialist to support outpatient, retail, mail order, DMEPOS procurement and to maintain inventory levels. You will monitor par levels, manage stock, and ensure proper documentation in a busy hospital pharmacy environment.

The role requires 3–4 years of related experience, MA Board registration, and a certification; familiarity with QS1-NRX and 340B processes is a plus.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy by hire date.
• National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB or exCPT).
• 3–4 years related experience (shipping, receiving, inventory or pharmacy) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain purchasing invoice records and ensure proper filing; track & trace compliance.
• Manage medication inventories; rotate stock and stock within USP guidelines.
• Maintain shelves and storage areas in a clean, orderly fashion.
• Process drug returns and adjust inventory; ensure shipping requirements.
• Run reports from the pharmacy system to optimize daily orders.
• Handle SFTP/EDI transmissions and verify successful transfers.
• Perform cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
