Job summary

Capital Health in New Jersey is seeking a Pharmacist leader to supervise the daily operations of the hospital pharmacy, ensuring a safe, efficient medication management system and adherence to USP 797/800 guidelines.

The role requires a Doctor of Pharmacy, New Jersey license, and at least three years of health-system pharmacy experience, with supervisory capabilities and knowledge of regulatory standards; a PGY1 residency is preferred.

Qualifications

PharmD or equivalent professional degree from ACPE-accredited school.
Active New Jersey Pharmacist License required; BPS certification preferred.
PGY1 Pharmacy Residency preferred; sterile product certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervises dispensing of all medications and ensures compliance with clean room and CSP procedures.
Coordinate staffing and scheduling to maintain 24/7 pharmacy coverage.
Provide onboarding, training, and ongoing staff development; conduct annual mandatory trainings.
Ensure regulatory compliance and readiness for audits by agencies (ASHP, DNV, BOP, DOH).
Lead medication safety initiatives and incident reporting improvements.
Collaborate with hospital leadership to align pharmacy services with departmental goals.
