The Johns Hopkins Hospital is an internationally renowned academic medical center located in Baltimore, MD. The Operations Manager role oversees clinical and operational pharmacy services and staff across three ambulatory oncology infusion centers, guiding HR, policy, compliance, formulary stewardship, education, and interdepartmental collaboration.

Ideal candidates hold a PharmD or B.S. in Pharmacy with hospital supervisory experience and Maryland licensure; ASHP residency or equivalent

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in Pharm D. or BS degree.
  • Minimum of one year of hospital experience with responsibility for the supervision of pharmacy personnel is desired.
  • Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program or equivalent experience is desired.
  • Current licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Maryland required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee clinical and operational services and staff across ambulatory oncology infusion centers.
  • Manage human resources, policies and procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Enforce formulary and medication stewardship; educate staff, students, and residents.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues and support medication safety event review.
  • Enhance informatics systems, inventory management, and departmental committee engagement.
  • Coordinate with administrative team to oversee overall department clinical pharmacy services.

The Department of Pharmacy, consistent with the mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine, places a priority on teaching, research and patient care. At Johns Hopkins Hospital, the Weinberg Pharmacy is responsible for providing adult oncology acute and ambulatory care services.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight of clinical and operational services and staff serving the three ambulatory oncology infusion centers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: human resources management, clinical and operational policies and procedures, federal and state regulatory compliance, formulary and medication stewardship program enforcement, pharmacy staff, pharmacy student, and pharmacy resident education, collaboration with interdisciplinary colleagues, medication safety event review, enhancement of informatics systems, inventory management, and departmental and hospital committee engagement. The Operations Manager will work with the departmental administrative team to assist in the oversight of the overall department’s clinical pharmacy services and medication distribution processes.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in Pharm D. or BS degree.

Salary Range: Minimum 54.35/hour - Maximum 95.15/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
