Responsibilities

1. Accountable for performing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations, administrative activities; ensures efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Serves as a full-time certified pharmacy technician.
2. Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, managing pharmacy technicians and cashiers within legal and company guidelines.
3. Lead the recruitment, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technician personnel, including disciplinary actions.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers, resolve complaints, respond to requests, and answer non-clinical questions to ensure positive experiences. Develop strong relationships and promote healthcare services.

Operations

• Assist pharmacists with patient registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, and healthcare services like vaccinations and health screenings, adhering to legal and policy guidelines.
• Manage pharmacy workflow, organize daily schedules, ensure cleanliness and supplies, and oversee inventory and administrative activities.
• Support technology rollout, maintain equipment, and ensure security and compliance, including Good Faith Dispensing and diversion monitoring.
• Handle insurance claims, resolve customer issues, and support pharmacy financial and operational improvements.

People & Performance Management

• Lead technician performance management, including disciplinary actions, hiring, onboarding, training, and licensing compliance.

Training & Personal Development

• Maintain PTCB certification, pursue ongoing education, and seek professional development opportunities.

Communication

• Maintain effective communication within the pharmacy team and participate in meetings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, PTCB or ExCPT certification, one year of pharmacy technician experience, fluency in English, and flexible working hours.

Preferred

• Leadership experience and prior Walgreens employment with high performance evaluations.
