Job summary

Walgreens in Palos Township, Illinois is hiring a full-time certified pharmacy technician. Under pharmacist supervision you will support non-clinical pharmacy operations, patient data entry, and medication preparation to ensure efficient workflow and a positive patient experience.

You will lead training of technicians, participate in scheduling, and assist with immunizations and health services as allowed by law. A valid PTCB/ExCPT certification and one year of tech experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations).

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in patient care including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation of medications, counting and verifying (where allowed by law).
• Complete patient and physician calls under the supervision of a pharmacist (where allowed by law).
• Assist with healthcare service offerings including administering vaccines, health screenings, and other services allowed by law.
