Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to direct daily operations of pharmacy services at 81 Highland Avenue. You will supervise staff, set short- and long-term goals, and serve as a resource to pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff.

The ideal candidate has a Doctor of Pharmacy or bachelor's in pharmacy, state licensure, 2–3 years of management experience (3–5 preferred), strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent verbal, written, and quantitative skills.
• Displays a comprehensive knowledge of department operations.
• Shows knowledge of the pharmacology of drugs and the legal aspects of dispensing.
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills to educate and supervise staff, normally acquired after three to five years of related hospital experience in a progressive, large health care organization.
• Can work accurately and make decisions under stress and with time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, guidance, and serves as a role model to those professionals under his/her supervision.
• Supervises and directs the daily operations of pharmacy services. Schedules and assigns staff.
• Serves as a resource person regarding pharmacy policies to pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff.
• Participates in on-call responsibilities as assigned.
• Responsible for staff development and performance evaluation.
• Assists in the recruitment, interviews, and training of new staff.
• Participates in the development of policies and procedures.
• Conducts educational programs, in-services, and staff meetings.
