Job summary

Walgreens Co. in Glastonbury, CT seeks a full-time certified pharmacy technician to support non-clinical pharmacy operations and ensure a positive patient experience.

Under pharmacist supervision, you will handle patient data, prescriptions, and workflow while supervising technicians and staff. You will participate in training, performance management, and delivery of vaccine and health services where allowed by law.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• PTCB certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• Has one year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations).

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in delivery of patient care including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation of medications for patients, counting, and verifying.
• Manage core pharmacy workflow and drive excellence in pharmacy operations.
• Lead training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians.
• Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims and handle 3rd party audits.
