Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin, Menomonee Falls, is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician Leader to supervise pharmacy technician staff and ensure accurate, timely work across the department.

You will train staff, manage schedules, assist with hiring and staff development, and uphold HIPAA and regulatory standards while coordinating with patient billing, insurance verification, and record-keeping systems to support safe, efficient pharmacy operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) within two years of hire.
• Experience in pharmacy operations and third-party billing.
• Strong leadership and staff development skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
• Ability to operate pharmacy systems and perform data entry.

Responsibilities

• Oversees activities of pharmacy technician staff to ensure timely, accurate work; provides leadership on complex issues.
• Trains and orients staff; directs day-to-day work; creates staff schedules; reviews progress and accuracy.
• Assists with interviewing and selection of new employees; supports staff development and morale.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and patient confidentiality; interprets department policies and procedures.
• Gathers and records information in the pharmacy system for record keeping, insurance verification, label generation, billing, and inventory control.
• Maintains drug files for billing and system-wide inventory control; performs recalls, returns, and cashiering as needed.
• Performs limited insurance/billing functions for prescriptions; handles prior authorizations and submits third-party claims.
• Processes new patient data entry and inventory management; ensures adequate stock to meet demand.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care knowledge and adheres to department standards and HIPAA.
