Position Overview:

A premier provider of pharmacy services is seeking a knowledgeable and driven Pharmacy Program Director to lead the creation and execution of pharmacy initiatives focused on education, quality enhancement, and hands-on facility collaboration. This individual will be responsible for managing pharmacy operations, ensuring regulatory adherence, and nurturing critical client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of pharmacy operations, including dispensing, inventory oversight, product procurement, staffing coordination, performance evaluation, and strategic planning.
  • Support the Quality Assurance Director in tracking and improving pharmacy program outcomes.
  • Organize and optimize workflows for Order Entry, Fill Technicians, and Pharmacists to maintain high standards of care.
  • Strengthen collaboration between pharmacy personnel and facility-based nursing, clinical, and administrative teams.
  • Establish, revise, and enforce pharmacy policies and protocols to align with evolving standards and operational goals.
  • Deliver drug education and clinical training sessions to nursing and medical staff at partner facilities.
  • Guide pharmacy staff through onboarding and ongoing procedural training.
  • Provide clinical support and oversee pharmacological treatments such as TPN, antimicrobial therapy, and pain control measures.
  • Step in to fulfill pharmacist duties when needed to ensure service continuity.
  • Maintain full compliance with federal/state pharmacy laws, including sterile compounding (USP 797) requirements.
  • Plan and manage future initiatives, such as new service offerings, automation implementation, and technological upgrades.
  • Assist in onboarding new administrative and clinical staff, supporting a smooth transition into pharmacy operations.
  • Guarantee round-the-clock staffing and operational support for pharmacy functions.

Leadership and Team Oversight:

  • Direct scheduling and management of all pharmacy departments: pharmacists, order entry, medication fulfillment, medical records, and billing teams.
  • Embody the organization's mission and uphold its core values and guiding principles.
  • Stay current with long-term care pharmacy practices, laws, and accreditation standards.
  • Encourage and maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace.
  • Promote teamwork and effective internal communication.
  • Participate in required staff meetings, continuing education, and compliance training.
  • Adhere to company attendance and professional appearance standards.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year’s experience in a pharmacy setting focused on acute care, geriatrics, or infusion therapy.
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing in the State of Florida (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word and Excel.
  • Physically and mentally capable of performing essential job functions with consistent reliability.
