Job summary

Walgreens Co. seeks a Pharmacy Manager to lead a high-performing pharmacy team, ensuring safe dispensing, regulatory compliance, and excellent patient care. You will supervise staff, optimize workflow, and promote clinical services such as immunizations and disease state management.

You will collaborate with store leadership to expand health services and improve patient outcomes while maintaining strict quality and financial controls.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance billing.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on usage, side effects, interactions, contraindications, generics and OTC products; refer to medical provider when needed.
• Performs compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Reviews and dispenses prescribed medications accurately.
• Ensures pharmacy operations comply with regulations and company policies; manages staff scheduling and shift changes.
• Adheres to Good Faith Dispensing policies with state and federal laws.
• Collaborates with Store Manager to identify new business opportunities.
• Maintains pharmacy IT knowledge and supports staff with systems and workflow.
• Processes insurance claims to minimize rejections and resolves issues with providers.
• Contacts medical providers to clarify prescriptions and supports diagnosis and wellness services.
• Performs immunizations, diagnostic testing and disease state management.
• Partners with centralized support for patient registration and issue resolution.
• Oversees maintenance and improvements of the pharmacy department and equipment.

Education

BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree

Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district
