Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a licensed pharmacist to provide empathetic pharmacy consulting, immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcome services. You will ensure accurate dispensing, manage workflow and inventory, and lead staff performance and development to deliver high-quality care.

The role emphasizes shifting the pharmacy approach from transactional to interpersonal, with responsibilities spanning patient education, medication management, and collaboration with healthcare providers.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance billing.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on usage of medicines, interactions, and safety; refers to medical provider as needed.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Reviews and dispenses prescribed medications accurately and in accordance with regulations and policies.
• Ensures Good Faith Dispensing practices in line with state and federal laws.
• Collaborates with Store Manager to define new strategic opportunities and improve patient experience.
• Manages pharmacy workflow, inventory, billing, and IT systems to support staff and patients.

Education
