Job summary

Walgreens Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to lead daily operations, ensure compliant dispensing, and supervise staff in a community setting. The role emphasizes immunizations, drug therapy reviews, and patient outcomes with a focus on efficiency and service quality.

You will collaborate with store leadership, manage inventory, perform quality checks, and uphold regulatory standards while promoting Walgreens health services and patient experience initiatives.

Qualifications

• Candidate must hold a Pharm D or BS in Pharmacy and be licensed as a pharmacist in applicable states.
• Certified Immunizer or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire is required.
• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including dispensing, recordkeeping, and compliance.
• Experience with pharmacy software and billing systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on medication use, interactions, and OTC products; refers to medical providers as needed.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Reviews, interprets, and dispenses prescribed medications in accordance with regulations.
• Establishes procedures to promote efficient pharmacy workflow; oversees staff scheduling and role assignments.
• Ensures insurance claims are processed accurately and handles third-party audits.
• Follows up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions and optimize therapy.
• Performs clinical and wellness services such as immunizations and diagnostic testing.
• Manages maintenance and improvement of the pharmacy department and documentation per laws.
