Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution.
• Current pharmacist licensure in states within the district.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and insurance billing.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws.
• Internal candidates: leadership rating of 3.0 or higher on last performance review or no disciplinary actions in last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients and answers questions regarding usage, side effects, interactions, privacy, generics, and OTC products.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Reviews, interprets, and accurately dispenses prescribed medications, as required.
• Ensures the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations and policies; oversees staffing and shift changes.
• Maintains information technology knowledge of pharmacy systems and supports staff and patients.
• Processes insurance claims and assists with audits; resolves patient issues with insurers.
• Collaborates with Store Manager to identify opportunities and improve patient experience.
