Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to lead a high-performing pharmacy team, oversee compounding, dispensing, and clinical services such as immunizations and medication management, while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

The role focuses on delivering excellent patient experiences, optimizing workflow, and driving pharmacy financial performance through staff development and service enhancements.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited institution.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance billing.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients and answers questions regarding usage of medicine, side effects, interactions, contraindications, privacy, generics, cost considerations, and OTC products.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Reviews, interprets, and accurately dispenses prescribed medications while ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Manages pharmacy workflow, scheduling, roles, and shift changes to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensures Good Faith Dispensing and regulatory compliance in line with laws when filling prescriptions.
