Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a licensed pharmacist to oversee clinical and operational pharmacy duties in Georgia. The role includes counseling patients, performing dispensing and compounding, immunizations, and contributing to patient outcomes and service quality.

You will manage pharmacy staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with store leadership to expand health and wellness services while maintaining efficient workflow and accurate records.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D from an accredited program.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become one within 90 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, and insurance billing.
• Experience with state and federal controlled substances laws.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and generics.
• Performs compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Reviews, interprets, and dispenses prescribed medications per guidelines.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and company policies; manages pharmacy workflow and staff scheduling.
• Uses Good Faith Dispensing practices and collaborates with the Store Manager on new opportunities.
• Maintains pharmacy IT systems, inventory, and point-of-sale processes.
• Processes insurance claims and addresses issues with payers.
• Provides immunizations and diagnostic testing where applicable.
