Job summary

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s MVOPD is seeking a Pharmacy Inventory Specialist to manage all pharmacy inventory activities, coordinate transfers between MVOPD and satellite locations, and oversee bi-annual inventory prep and cycle counts.

Located in the Boston area, this role requires experience with OPD systems (Parata, Carousel, Enterprise Rx), strong attention to detail, and the ability to train others while collaborating with the Outpatient Pharmacy team.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5 years of experience with outpatient or retail pharmacy inventory as a pharmacy technician or similar role, or 2 years at DFCI outpatient technician levels 2, 3, or 4.
• Experience with current OPD systems/technologies (Parata, Carousel, Enterprise Rx) preferred.
• Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy Registration as a Pharmacy Technician required; National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily returns-to-stock, cycle counts and ensures on-hand accuracy of all Rx and OTC inventory.
• Responsible for all pharmacy inventory related activities such as commercial drug storage within the pharmacy.
• Provides support for storage at satellite locations, auditing inventory transactions, reviewing short-dated drugs to ensure proper handling and stocking.
• Oversees inventory rotation, removal and return of expired products, recalls, and saleable returns.
• Maintains inventory-related metrics and reporting including month-end report, inventory volumes, etc.
• Participates in management of third-party inventory management systems and acts as super user for inventory technology.
• Provides training to staff on inventory policy, procedures, and technology.
• Receives inventory accurately in Pharmacy Management System and maintains invoice documents.
