Job summary

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited educational institution prior to the start date in position.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 90 days of hire per district guidelines.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients and answers questions regarding usage of medicine, side effects, interactions, and contraindications to ensure proper use and satisfaction with service.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management to dispense prescribed medications accurately.
• Ensures the pharmacy operates in accordance to regulations and company policies; assists in establishing efficient workflows and shift responsibilities.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy systems and proposes enhancements to improve productivity.
• Ensures accurate processing of insurance claims and follows up with providers to resolve issues.
• Engages with local medical community and participates in outreach to promote Walgreens and pharmacy services.
