Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacist to provide pharmacy consulting, medication management, and immunization services in a customer‑facing role. You will ensure accurate dispensing, verify prescriptions, and support workflow efficiency while maintaining regulatory compliance.

You will counsel patients on drug interactions, generics, and proper usage, and participate in clinical and wellness services to promote preventive care. Collaboration with providers and community partners is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited educational institution prior to the start date in position.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 90 days of hire per district guidelines.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients and answers questions regarding usage of medicine, side effects, interactions, and patient information privacy.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensures the pharmacy operates in accordance to regulations, company policies and standards; assists with procedures for efficient workflow and inventory management.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy systems and proposes enhancements to promote productivity.
• Ensures accurate processing of insurance claims and follows up with insurers and providers.
• Performs immunizations and preventive healthcare services.
• Assists in analyzing performance data including financials and KPI reviews.
• Develops relationships with local medical community and participates in outreach.
