Job summary

CVS Health in the United States is offering a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern program within our retail stores. You will translate classroom learning into hands-on practice, under a licensed pharmacist, and follow a structured training roadmap designed to prepare you for a pharmacist role.

You will support pharmacy operations to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly and safely, contribute to patient care through counseling and immunization activities where allowed, and participate in SOPs and

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists and technicians manage and improve patient health.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and provide empathetic patient service.
• Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and collect patient history to provide optimal care under supervision.
• Take telephonic prescriptions from prescriber and clarify as needed where allowed by state regulation.
• Provide in‑the‑moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy staff; share best practices.
• Complete basic inventory activities and assist with cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and related tasks.
• Support immunizations and off-site clinics where lawful and trained to do so.
• Travel to stores in the market to cover shifts as needed by the business.
