Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support pharmacists and the pharmacy team. You will learn to provide the best patient experience, assist in processing prescriptions, and deliver excellent customer service under state and federal regulations.

Under pharmacist supervision, you will help with entering, third-party processing, filling and dispensing prescriptions, and provide patient counseling as part of the health services offered.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Pharmacy program.
• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Engages customers and patients, greeting them and assisting with products and services to ensure a positive experience.
• Models and shares customer service best practices with team members to deliver a distinctive experience.
• Develops strong relationships with customers.
• Learn from store and pharmacy team members and leadership.
• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision in accordance with policy.
• Enter, process third-party and dispense prescriptions under supervision.
• Assist with patient counseling and health services within state scope of practice.
• Report prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhere to dispensing policies.
• Maintain accurate sales with cash register and assist customers in locating products.
• Support inventory management and ensure proper stocking of the Pharmacy Department.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and asset protection techniques.
• Complete special assignments as directed.
