Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support the pharmacist in complying with state and federal regulations while delivering excellent patient care. You will help obtain patient and drug information from pharmacy systems and assist with processing prescriptions to ensure timely service.

Under supervision, you will participate in patient counseling, medication management, and inventory tasks, contributing to a positive customer experience and accurate dispensing.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a School of Pharmacy program.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve issues for a positive experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members to deliver a distinctive, delightful experience.
• Develop strong relationships with customers.
• Learn from store and pharmacy teams, field leadership, and customers.
• Assist the pharmacist in pharmacy duties in accordance with policy; follow SOPs for entering, third party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
• Assist pharmacists in delivering patient care within the state scope of practice for interns, including counseling.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and follow QA procedures.
• Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policies.
• Handle cash responsibly and assist customers to OTC products.
• Assist with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain clean, neat, and orderly Pharmacy Department areas; support exterior/interior maintenance.
• Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships.
• Complete special assignments as needed.
