Job summary

Meijer Inc. pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support customer service, process and fill prescriptions, and assist with clinical services.

You will work under a pharmacist to perform third-party adjudication and manage inventory while providing excellent patient care. Qualifications include enrollment in an accredited pharmacy school and a state-specific Pharmacy Intern License, along with strong communication, organizational, and confidentiality skills.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school.
• Pharmacy Intern License (state specific).
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
• Neat and legible penmanship.
• Organizational and prioritization skills.

• Understanding of patient confidentiality.
• Knowledge of third party help and MTM platforms.
• Pharmaceutical calculations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients.
• Communicate with patients in person and by telephone; assist with product selection; obtain medication prices.
• Process and fill prescriptions.
• Use pharmacy computer system for prescription data entry and third party adjudication; count and label prescriptions; receive new prescriptions at Will Call.
• Perform third-party functions.
• Inventory management and balance on hand; order and receive stock; manage vendor charges.
• Deliver clinical services in collaboration with a pharmacist.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
