Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern to apply classroom learning in real-world pharmacy settings within CVS Health stores. You will follow a comprehensive training roadmap designed to show you what it’s like to be part of a pharmacy team while gaining exposure to store, district, and regional operations.

You will assist the pharmacy team to ensure safe, accurate prescription fulfillment and patient‑centered care.

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs at each workstation to support pharmacists and technicians in patient care.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for safe, accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Provide empathetic service and enhance patient experiences at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
• Counsel patients and collect medical history information to provide optimal care.
• Handle incoming prescriptions by phone and clarify with prescribers when needed.
• Support training and mentoring of pharmacy team members.
• Assist with inventory tasks and returns-to-stocks.
• Collaborate with the team and grow clinical and technical knowledge.
• Be flexible with scheduling and travel to stores as needed.
• Adhere to laws, CVS policies, and patient privacy.
• Provide immunizations and point-of-care testing where allowed.
• Complete licensure training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
• Educate patients about vaccines and refer to the Pharmacist on duty.
• Monitor and report adverse vaccine reactions.
• Review and document patient information for each applicable patient.
