Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a pharmacist to provide medication counseling, immunizations, and clinical services while ensuring accurate dispensing and compliance with regulations. You will support workflow, inventory management, and customer experience in a busy pharmacy.

You will perform compounding, drug therapy reviews, and verification, and assist the pharmacy manager in improving financial performance and patient care through data-driven improvements and community outreach.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited educational institution prior to the start date in position.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 90 days of hire per district guidelines.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients and answers questions regarding usage of medicine, side effects, interactions, contraindications, privacy, generics, OTC products.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensures the pharmacy operates in accordance to regulations, company policies and standards and assists with establishing procedures for efficient workflow.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy systems such as Intercom Plus and StoreNET and proposes enhancements to promote productivity.
• Ensures accurate processing of insurance claims and follows up with insurance companies and providers.
• Performs immunizations and other preventive healthcare services.
• Assists in analyzing performance data and KPI reviews with management.
• Develops relationships with local medical community and participates in outreach.
