Job summary

OneWorld Community Health Centers, Inc. in Omaha, Nebraska, is hiring a Pharmacy Customer Service Representative I for a full-time, 40-hour week on a Monday–Friday schedule with rotating Saturday shifts at the Main Livestock Exchange Campus.

The role supports pharmacy programs, assists patients with records, insurance, prescriptions, and language interpretation; it requires bilingual English/Spanish communication and cash handling experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Nebraska Pharmacy Technician license preferred; license eligibility required.
  • At least 1 year of cash handling experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and internet usage.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid math and analytical problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Awareness of low-income and medically underserved populations.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes patients and provides excellent customer service.
  • Registers and maintains patient records and insurance in the pharmacy software.
  • Performs daily cash register operations and cash handling.
  • Receives, refills, and mails prescriptions.

Job description

Job Duties

The Pharmacy Customer Service Representative I (PCSR I) contributes to the organization's overall goal to develop and sustain pharmacy services for patients. The PCSR I works as part of a team that provides support for OneWorld's pharmaceutical programs. The PCSR I collects patient fees, directs patients to the proper financial and medication assistance programs, and answers general questions regarding pharmacy programs. The PCSR I contributes to maintaining a cooperative work environment and provides assistance in administrative support.

  • Welcomes patients to the pharmacy as they arrive, inquires how to assist them, and provides them with excellent customer service.
  • Registers, updates, and maintains patient records and insurance information in the pharmacy software system.
  • Performs daily cash register operations and follows cash handling procedures, as directed by the Associate Director of Pharmacy Operations and the Pharmacy Customer Service Supervisor.
  • Receives, refills, and mails prescriptions as requested by patients.
  • Advises patients on medication financial assistance options and directs them to the appropriate resources and staff members.
  • Provides written translation services and verbal interpretation between patients and pharmacy staff as needed.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • Licensure as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Nebraska preferred; license eligibility required.
  • One or more years of cash handling experience in a work environment required.
  • Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel) and internet usage required.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish required.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) required.
  • Demonstrated math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division along with strong analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service, while exhibiting a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, with high attention to detail and strong trouble‑shooting/follow‑up skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, balancing responsibilities and work projects with minimal direction, but also function well in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding and awareness of assistance programs, community resources, and the needs of low‑income and medically underserved populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups in a coordinating role.
